Business Development Manager – North England (Field Based)

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to drive growth across the North of England. Working field‑based, you will identify, develop and secure new business opportunities, strengthening the company’s market position and expanding its footprint in key sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets set by management.
• Identify and pursue new opportunities, including untapped markets, strategic partnerships and existing smaller customers.
• Re‑engage and develop relationships with customers from the existing database.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision‑makers and influencers.
• Generate a qualified pipeline of leads and proactively engage prospects.
• Develop deep product knowledge and provide tailored solutions.
• Negotiate pricing, prepare quotes and proposals in line with corporate policies.
• Conduct client meetings (in‑person, phone or video) to understand needs and propose solutions.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth onboarding and account handovers.
• Contribute to regional strategy focused on growth, profitability and efficiency.
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and industry developments.
• Prepare and present forecasts, performance reports and market analysis to senior management.

Required profile

• Proven experience generating new business across sectors such as End Users, Retail, Healthcare, FM, Local Authorities, Façade/Aluminium Fabricators, System Integrators, Main Contractors and Specialist Sub‑contractors.
• Technical mindset with the ability to grasp and communicate product details.
• Excellent organisational, time‑management and reporting skills.
• Confident communicator and presenter, able to build rapport at all levels.
• Detail‑oriented, capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills.

Required skills

• Microsoft Dynamics CRM or similar CRM systems.

• Competitive base salary £45,000‑£70,000 per year plus OTE.
