Business Tax Senior Manager

About the role

Menzies is seeking a Business Tax Senior Manager to lead tax compliance and advisory services for a diverse portfolio of owner‑managed businesses and larger international groups. You will work within a collaborative, people‑first culture that values technical excellence and client relationships.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of corporate tax compliance work, including WIP management and billing.
• Advise owner‑managed businesses on succession planning, remuneration, capital expenditure timing and IP restructuring.
• Support entrepreneurial clients throughout their lifecycle, including business structuring, staff incentives, international growth and shareholder value protection.
• Provide tax advice on equity incentive schemes such as EMI options.
• Network, prepare proposals and grow the corporate tax portfolio in Gatwick.
• Identify tax planning, risk mitigation and cross‑selling opportunities across service lines.
• Train and mentor junior colleagues within the Business Tax team.
• Ensure adherence to the firm’s technical, ethical, risk and compliance procedures.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant and/or CIOT‑qualified tax adviser with relevant experience.
• Strong corporate tax technical and practical knowledge, including tax accounting.
• Good understanding of tax issues affecting owner‑managed businesses and their shareholders.
• Familiarity with other business taxes and tax reporting processes.
• Experience working with corporate and entrepreneurial clients at a senior level.
• Knowledge of UK accounting standards and ability to interpret financial statements.
