Buyer – 12‑month Fixed‑Term Contract

About the role

CooperVision is seeking a Buyer on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract to support its supply chain operations. You will be responsible for sourcing products and services, negotiating with vendors, and ensuring timely delivery to meet business needs.

Key responsibilities

• Plan purchases against business requirements and maintain appropriate inventory levels.
• Develop and maintain effective supplier relationships, holding regular performance reviews.
• Negotiate prices, terms, and lead times, and create purchase orders.
• Participate in tender processes and RFPs as required.
• Administer routine purchase order activities, resolve discrepancies, and approve invoices.
• Identify cost‑saving opportunities and lead projects to achieve category savings targets.
• Collaborate with finance, product change, regulatory, and quality teams on new material introductions and product launches.
• Provide data and reports on purchasing and inventory activity for management review.
• Support internal and external audits and contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Proven experience in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier‑management skills.
• Ability to work cross‑functionally with finance, quality, and regulatory teams.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
