Chef Trainer/Assessor (Trainee or Qualified)

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Chef Trainer/Assessor to deliver hospitality apprenticeship standards across Manchester and surrounding areas. Full training and support will be provided to achieve the Level 3 Award in Education and Training, making this an ideal entry point into the training sector.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver blended learning (remote and face‑to‑face) for Front‑of‑House and Back‑of‑House apprenticeship standards.
• Teach Maths and English Functional Skills Level 2 to learners.
• Manage a diary of visits, reviews and assessments, ensuring timely completion.
• Maintain accurate documentation of learner progress and outcomes.
• Motivate and support learners, overcoming barriers to learning.
• Meet assessor KPIs for visits, paperwork quality and administration.

Required profile

• Level 2 Hospitality qualification or higher.
• Proven occupational competency as a Chef (e.g., Head Chef, Sous Chef, Chef de Partie) with leadership experience.
• Experience preparing a wide range of fresh, seasonal dishes.
• Front‑of‑House experience at Team Leader level or above is desirable.
• Full UK driving licence and own vehicle.
• Flexibility to travel across the region.

• Salary £31,600 – £34,300 per year, dependent on qualifications.
