Children's Initial Contact Officer – MASH Referral & Contact

About the role

As a Children's Initial Contact Officer within the Multi‑Agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), you will be the first point of contact for professionals and the public who raise safeguarding concerns. Working from an office in Havering, you will help ensure that referrals are processed quickly and accurately.

Key responsibilities

• Receive, triage and sign‑post MASH referrals and calls to the appropriate services.
• Maintain and update IT systems to guarantee data accuracy and confidentiality.
• Provide administrative support to the MASH team, including minute‑taking and record keeping.
• Collaborate with partner agencies to ensure a coordinated response.

Required profile

• Experience in a fast‑paced environment, preferably within safeguarding or a related public‑service role.
• Enhanced DBS clearance is mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Competence in using various IT and data‑entry systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
