Cleaner – Pub

About the role

We are looking for enthusiastic, reliable individuals to join our cleaning team at The Gateway pub in East Didsbury. No prior experience is required – we provide training and a supportive environment. The role offers flexible shift patterns across mornings, evenings, weekends and late finishes.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness in all public areas, including customer zones, toilets, bar, kitchen, staff areas and exterior spaces.
• Complete daily, weekly and monthly cleaning tasks following standard operating procedures.
• Handle cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and according to guidelines.
• Monitor and replenish cleaning supplies, reporting shortages to the manager.
• Report maintenance and pest‑management issues promptly.
• Interact politely with customers, greeting them and thanking them on departure.
• Participate in induction, role‑specific training and ongoing refresher sessions.

Required profile

• Positive attitude, friendly and reliable.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and work independently when required.
• Willingness to learn and follow health and safety procedures.
• Availability for flexible shift patterns, including early mornings and late nights.

Required skills

• Use of cleaning chemicals and equipment safely.
