About the role
Jewish Care is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and compassionate Community Dementia Coordinator to develop and deliver dementia services across multiple sites in London, Hertfordshire, Essex and Brighton. You will lead a range of community programmes, support a team of assistants and volunteers, and act as a dementia ambassador within the Jewish community.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate the day‑to‑day running of all dementia programmes and maintain high service standards.
- Oversee strategic development and growth of community dementia activities across multiple locations.
- Support, manage and develop Community Dementia Assistants.
- Recruit, train and support volunteers.
- Develop new activities in partnership with people living with dementia and their families.
- Organise larger cross‑community events and celebrations.
- Collaborate with internal colleagues, community organisations and local authorities to promote dementia‑friendly practices.
- Represent Jewish Care at external forums, networks and stakeholder groups.
- Support safeguarding processes and contribute to performance and impact reporting.
- Promote Jewish Care’s wider services and signpost individuals to additional support.
Required profile
- Experience in a community‑based role, ideally supporting older people or those living with dementia.
- Strong understanding of dementia and the challenges faced by individuals and families.
- Knowledge of the Jewish community, its culture, observance and traditions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy, compassion and respect.
- Strong organisational and administrative abilities, able to manage multiple programmes and meet deadlines.
- Ability to support, lead and collaborate with staff and volunteers.
- Confident, calm and solution‑focused in challenging situations.
- High level IT literacy, including Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- Positive, proactive and team‑oriented attitude.
