Community Staff Nurse – School Nursing (West Dunbartonshire)

About the role

The NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is seeking a Community Staff Nurse to join the School Nursing team in West Dunbartonshire. You will work closely with children, young people, families and multi‑agency partners to promote physical and emotional wellbeing and support them in reaching their full potential.

Key responsibilities

• Assess, plan and implement programmes of care under the direction of the school nurse.
• Develop evidence‑based care plans in partnership with children, young people, families and relevant agencies.
• Provide accessible, safe and person‑centred care in line with GIRFEC principles.
• Manage your own workload and support the wider team with leadership duties.
• Travel across West Dunbartonshire to deliver services as required.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse with a first‑level degree and a live NMC UK PIN.
• Evidence of recent Continuing Professional Development.
• Working knowledge of child protection systems and GIRFEC.
• Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal abilities.
• Leadership experience and ability to work independently.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IT systems used in health and social care.
• Familiarity with child protection systems.
