Community Staff Nurse – Specialist Paediatrics (Band 5)

About the role
This full‑time Band 5 Community Staff Nurse role is based at Gorbals Health & Care Centre and forms part of the Specialist Community Paediatric Team. You will work across community, clinic and home settings, providing assessment, support and evidence‑based interventions for children with additional needs and their families.
Key responsibilities
- Provide assessment, support and nursing interventions for children and young people with additional needs and their families.
- Plan, implement and evaluate programmes of care in partnership with families and multidisciplinary colleagues.
- Deliver care within community, clinic and home settings, ensuring services are accessible, responsive and person‑centred.
- Promote health improvement, education and wellbeing through evidence‑based interventions.
- Collaborate with health, education, social care and voluntary partners to coordinate care and achieve positive outcomes.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to risk, safeguarding and child protection management.
- Support service development, quality improvement, audit and the learning of colleagues and students.
Required profile
- First‑level registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (live NMC pin).
- Evidence of continuing professional development and commitment to lifelong learning.
- Relevant experience working with children, young people and families.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to build effective relationships.
- Ability to work independently, manage a varied workload and make informed professional decisions.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and effective teamwork within a multidisciplinary environment.
Required skills
- IT skills including email, word processing and electronic record systems.
