Consultant - Allergy & Immunology

About the role

We are seeking a dynamic Consultant in Allergy & Immunology to join the Leeds Immunology & Allergy services at St James’s University Hospital. The post is a new, full‑time position within a highly experienced multidisciplinary team delivering specialist care for rare primary immunodeficiencies, systemic autoinflammatory disorders and a wide range of allergic diseases.

Key responsibilities

• Provide clinical diagnosis and management for patients with primary immunodeficiencies, autoinflammatory conditions and allergic diseases.
• Supervise resident and specialist doctors, specialist nurses, pharmacists and physician associates.
• Participate in on‑call clinical advice rota (1:4) across Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
• Support and develop the immunology laboratory, with interchangeable time for outpatient clinic sessions.
• Contribute to the department’s QPIDS‑accredited service and maintain high standards of patient care.

Required profile

• Membership of the Royal Colleges of Physicians of the United Kingdom (or equivalent).
• Completion of a recognised training programme in clinical and laboratory immunology as defined by the JRCPTB.
• Holder of, or within six months of, a place on the Specialist Register.
• Compliance with consultant appointment regulations.
