Data Protection & AI Consultant

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Protection & AI Consultant to join our growing team. The role combines hands‑on privacy operations with client‑facing consultancy, helping organisations across multiple sectors navigate complex data protection challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Act as a trusted advisor and primary point of contact for clients on all data protection matters.
• Support and deliver privacy programmes, including DPIAs, LIAs, RoPAs and data‑mapping activities.
• Identify and manage data protection and cyber‑risk exposures.
• Provide pragmatic advice on UK GDPR and international privacy regulations.
• Assist with data‑breach response, regulatory compliance and ICO engagement.
• Develop and implement policies, governance frameworks and privacy controls.
• Deliver training and awareness sessions to stakeholders.
• Build strong relationships with senior leadership and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in data protection or privacy roles.
• Strong working knowledge of UK GDPR and, ideally, EU/international frameworks.
• Hands‑on experience with DPIAs, LIAs, RoPAs, data mapping, supplier risk assessments and incident/breach management.
• IAPP certification (CIPP/E, CIPM or equivalent) is preferred.
• Comfortable working directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organisational abilities.
• Pragmatic, solutions‑focused approach.
