Data Validator – Gynaecology (Band 4)

About the role

This full‑time Band 4 position supports the Gynaecology department by ensuring accurate collection, validation and reporting of patient pathway data. The role is pivotal for meeting national and local targets for elective care and the RTT (Referral‑to‑Treatment) pathway.

Key responsibilities

• Download, review and validate performance reports supplied by information management.
• Complete monthly data validation tasks and resolve discrepancies.
• Monitor and clear uncashed outpatient appointments.
• Collate and process RTT pathway data in line with national and local submission timescales.
• Provide timely performance information to Gynaecology managers, highlighting breaches of targets.
• Work closely with administrative, clinical, data‑quality and business‑intelligence colleagues to ensure patient pathways are correctly recorded on the PAS system.
• Exercise initiative, independent judgement and decision‑making to maintain a high‑quality service.

Required profile

• Ability to work under the direction of the Performance & Operations Manager, Support Manager and General Manager.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
• Effective collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Commitment to delivering reliable data for performance monitoring.

Required skills

• Experience with data validation and report generation.
• Familiarity with the PAS (Patient Administration System) or similar healthcare information systems.
• Understanding of RTT pathway requirements and elective care targets.
