Design & Development Engineer – Actuation Systems

About the role

We are seeking a Design & Development Engineer to join the R&D team at Safran Actuation Systems UK in Banbury. The role will focus on creating new composite products and technologies for aerospace applications, guiding projects from concept through qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and optimise composite aerospace components from initial design to testing and qualification.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate designs into flight‑control and actuation systems.
• Perform analysis, prototype build, and validation activities in a fast‑paced R&D environment.
• Document design decisions, test results and support product certification processes.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Materials Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Strong interest in composite materials and aerospace product development.
• Ability to work autonomously and within multidisciplinary teams.
