Director of Property Services

About the role

Metropolitan Thames Valley Housing is seeking a Director of Property Services to provide strategic and operational leadership for its national portfolio of around 58,000 homes. Reporting to the Executive Director of Property, the role will shape and improve resident‑focused services, ensuring safety, compliance and value for money across the organisation.

Key responsibilities

• Lead regional property services teams covering technical advisory, surveying, project management and voids contract delivery.
• Develop and execute service plans, programmes and performance targets aligned with MTVH’s corporate strategy.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, building regulations and housing standards, including damp, mould and warm‑dry home initiatives.
• Oversee identification, investigation and resolution of latent defects, managing relationships with developers and warranty providers.
• Provide governance, risk management and performance reporting to senior leadership and the Board.
• Foster an inclusive, high‑performance culture and develop future leadership capability.

Required profile

• Significant senior leadership experience in property services, repairs and maintenance within the housing sector.
• Proven track record of delivering regulatory‑ready, resident‑centred services at scale.
• Experience managing large, geographically dispersed, multi‑disciplinary teams.
• Strong understanding of UK housing regulations, health and safety, and building standards.
• Ability to influence senior stakeholders and drive continuous improvement.
