About the role
East London NHS Foundation Trust is offering a 12‑month internal development opportunity for a senior, values‑led leader to take on the Director of Quality role. Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and working closely with the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Nurse, the post provides a clear step towards future Board‑level Chief Quality Officer responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Lead quality assurance activities across the Trust.
- Oversee patient safety initiatives and regulatory readiness.
- Provide Board assurance on quality, governance and improvement.
- Embed a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
- Support senior leaders and staff to build confidence in quality processes.
Required profile
- Senior healthcare leader with a strong commitment to the Trust’s values of care, respect and inclusion.
- Experience in senior quality, safety or governance roles within NHS or comparable organisations.
- Ability to integrate assurance, governance, patient safety and improvement into a cohesive strategy.
- Deputy‑level clinical, nursing, medical or allied health leadership experience is highly desirable.
