About the role
We are seeking an Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join a manufacturing business in Birmingham. The role involves rotating shift patterns and focuses on maintaining and troubleshooting electrical and electro‑mechanical plant equipment.
Key responsibilities
- Install and maintain electrical and electro‑mechanical plant equipment and machinery.
- Perform fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on electrical systems.
- Operate a preventative electrical maintenance system.
- Program and troubleshoot Siemens and other programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Respond to breakdowns and provide timely corrective action.
Required profile
- Qualified to the 17th/18th Edition electrical standards.
- Completed a hands‑on electrical apprenticeship.
- Experience in a heavy‑industry or manufacturing environment.
- Proven diagnostics experience with electrical motors and pneumatics.
Required skills
- Siemens PLC programming.
- General PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Electrical motor diagnostics.
- Pneumatics system diagnostics.
