Electrician – Maintenance (Full‑time)

About the role
We are looking for an experienced Electrician to join the maintenance team of a leading cargo handling organisation in Northumberland. The role involves maintaining a wide range of equipment such as forklifts, cranes and heavy plant, ensuring electrical systems remain safe and operational.
Key responsibilities
- Carry out electrical engineering maintenance on all services, systems, plant and equipment (planned and breakdown).
- Perform electrical installation works in line with current regulations.
- Assist with loading/unloading cargo and operate plant & equipment when required.
- Provide flexible coverage for shift and weekend work as needed.
Required profile
- Proven experience as an electrician, preferably in a maintenance environment.
- Strong knowledge of electrical systems, equipment and installation procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem‑solving and attention to detail.
- Full driving licence.
- Desirable: experience with cargo handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, heavy plant) and relevant electrical qualifications.

- Electrical engineering maintenance techniques.
- Electrical installation according to regulations.
- Interpretation of electrical schematics and diagrams.
- Use of electrical testing equipment and tools.
