Employability Skills Tutor

About the role
Maximus is seeking an Employability Skills Tutor to join its adult education team in Birmingham city centre. You will work with learners to remove barriers to employment by delivering tailored, accredited and non‑accredited training programmes.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct pre‑course assessments covering maths, English, digital, soft skills and personal aspirations.
- Develop individual learning plans (ILPs) with SMART goals to address identified gaps.
- Design and deliver personalised training sessions, incorporating wellbeing and social development activities.
- Differentiate lesson content to match diverse learner needs and learning styles.
- Assess progress and provide feedback to prepare learners for further study or sustainable employment.
Required profile
- Teaching qualification such as PTTLS or AET.
- Assessing qualification such as TAQA or CAVA.
- Experience delivering adult employability or skills training.
- Ability to plan lessons, assess learner needs and produce clear action plans.

- Permanent full‑time contract (37.5 hours per week).
- Competitive salary £28,000‑£32,000 per year.
- Office‑based role in Birmingham with occasional travel within the area.
