English Teacher (Secondary) – Full‑time

About the role

St Mark's CE School is seeking an enthusiastic English teacher to join its all‑through secondary phase. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality GCSE English lessons within a supportive, faith‑based community.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver whole‑school English lessons up to GCSE level.
• Develop and maintain a progressive curriculum across the all‑through school.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff, briefing them on lesson plans and expectations.
• Implement the school’s behaviour policy and contribute to pupil mental wellbeing.
• Make a major contribution to school development and pastoral practice.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with recent professional development (within the last two years).
• Expert knowledge of curriculum legislation and guidance.
• Demonstrated high‑quality teaching and learning strategies.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Strong understanding of behaviour management and safeguarding requirements.
