Fabric Technician – North East England

About the role
We are seeking a Fabric Technician to provide first‑class service to our North East England sites, acting as the primary contact for end‑users and collaborating with Building Engineering Technicians, Asset Technicians and the Area Maintenance Manager. You will ensure premises are secure, safe and compliant with health‑and‑safety standards while delivering practical solutions to fabric‑related issues.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver on‑site support across postcodes NE, SR, DH, DL and TS, Monday‑Friday 08:00‑16:00.
- Diagnose and resolve building‑fabric problems, applying carpentry and wet‑trade expertise.
- Maintain compliance with RMPFS health and safety policies and procedures.
- Participate in the out‑of‑hours call‑out rota when required.
- Record work using electronic management systems and communicate updates to customers.
Required profile
- Computer literate with experience of electronic management systems and email.
- Strong communication and active‑listening skills.
- Practical experience in carpentry and wet trades.
- Good knowledge of building‑fabric products.
- Full UK manual driving licence with no more than six penalty points.

What we offer
- Salary of £32,774.12 per annum.
- 22.5 days annual leave, rising to 25 days after five years, plus bank holidays.
- Permanent, full‑time contract with standard office hours.
- Opportunity to work across a variety of sites in the North East.
