Facade Designer – Permanent Role in Henley-on-Thames

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Facade Designer to join a well‑established construction firm on a permanent basis. The role is based in Henley‑on‑Thames and offers the chance to work on a variety of complex façade projects, applying strong CAD skills and deep knowledge of building physics.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed façade design drawings using CAD, ensuring production‑ready outputs with minimal rework.
• Interpret complex design briefs and follow advanced technical instructions.
• Apply in‑depth knowledge of façade engineering, material selection and building physics to produce specifications.
• Conduct risk assessments on material choices, including fire engineering and compliance with Building Control regulations and the Building Safety Act.
• Apply CDM principles, identify project drivers, risks and variations, and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders, review junior outputs and mentor less‑experienced colleagues.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Facade Designer or in a similar role.
• Strong ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Good understanding of contract principles, project delivery drivers and risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

Required skills

• Advanced CAD proficiency for production‑ready drawings.
• Knowledge of façade design, engineering principles, material selection, fire engineering and building physics.
• Familiarity with Building Control regulations, the Building Safety Act and CDM legislation.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £40,000‑£50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
