Site Manager – Residential Construction

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations on multiple residential construction sites. Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee and manage all on‑site activities from start to completion.
• Ensure site safety, programme delivery and quality of work.
• Maintain an efficient and well‑organised site environment.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site staff, addressing issues proactively.
• Ensure compliance with CDM regulations and company health‑and‑safety procedures.
• Monitor project progress, report to management and escalate significant risks or delays.
• Plan and manage site budgets, schedules, material storage, deliveries and waste management.
• Track workforce attendance and keep accurate on‑site records.
• Conduct site inspections and uphold quality‑control standards.
• Resolve on‑site issues quickly and efficiently.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Site Manager in residential construction.
• Proactive, solutions‑focused approach to problem solving.
• Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain effective under pressure.
• Relevant qualifications (SMSTS, SSSTS, CSCS, First Aid) – not essential but desirable.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to “muck in” and get hands dirty when required.
