Field Service Engineer – Birmingham

About the role

We are seeking a Field Service Engineer to join a leading engineering systems supplier. Based in Birmingham, you will travel across the UK and Ireland to install, service, and repair specialised machinery, receiving full training on our niche product range.

Key responsibilities

• Perform fault‑finding, repair, servicing and installation of electrical equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve PLC faults and wiring issues on site.
• Travel door‑to‑door across the UK and Ireland, with occasional stay‑away assignments.
• Attend a dedicated office day on Fridays for administrative tasks.
• Participate in industry and product training programmes.

Required profile

• Previous experience in a field service engineering role.
• Strong electrical background with PLC fault‑finding experience.
• Ability to work independently and travel extensively.
• Based in or able to commute to Birmingham.
• Valid driver’s licence.
