Field Service Engineer – Warehouse Automation

About the role

The Field Service Engineer will deliver on‑site service, maintenance and repair of warehouse automation equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance for our customers. You will work both independently and as part of a project team, travelling to customer sites across the UK.

Key responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and diagnose equipment faults on‑site.
• Install, commission and test new automation equipment to meet customer specifications.
• Provide exceptional customer support, including training on equipment use and safety.
• Record service activities, complete detailed reports and manage spare‑part inventory.
• Adhere to health and safety regulations and ensure equipment is left safe and operational.
• Identify recurring issues and suggest improvements to processes or equipment.

Required profile

• Strong technical problem‑solving ability with a hands‑on approach.
• Excellent communication and customer‑service skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage time effectively and maintain high attention to detail.
• Organisational skills for accurate record‑keeping and workload management.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays.
• Availability for on‑call rota covering evenings and weekends if required.
• Physical capability to handle tools and work in varied environments.
