FIG Investment Banking Associate – Capital Markets & M&A

About the role

Citi is seeking a Financial Institutions Group (FIG) Investment Banking Associate to join its London team. The role supports clients in the FIG sector with capital‑raising, mergers and acquisitions, and strategic advisory services, acting as a trusted advisor throughout the transaction process.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the execution of Citi’s investment banking activities, including capital markets and M&A transactions.
• Leverage prior investment banking experience to enhance deal execution and capital‑raising capabilities.
• Mentor and manage analysts, providing guidance, feedback, and oversight of information flow.
• Assess and manage risk, ensuring compliance with Citi’s policies, regulations, and ethical standards.
• Support client development by tracking industry trends, conducting research, and contributing to business development initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or a closely related field.
• Master’s degree in Business Administration is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of investment banking or M&A advisory experience within the financial institutions (FIG) space.
• Experience in the insurance sub‑industry is a plus.
• Strong problem‑solving, organizational and communication skills.
