Finance Business Controller

About the role

Join Meliá as a Finance Business Controller and play a pivotal role in ensuring financial integrity and operational efficiency across our hotel business units. You will work closely with the Operations Centre Business Partner to monitor performance, support decision‑making and drive continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and financial controls in administration and storage areas.
• Analyse financial and operational data to support the Business Partner in strategic decisions.
• Monitor hotel budgets, forecasts and actual performance, reporting any deviations.
• Participate in budget preparation, financial closing and forecasting activities.
• Coordinate cost‑control and cash‑control processes, guaranteeing accuracy.
• Support internal audits and uphold accounting standards.
• Oversee payment collection, reducing outstanding balances and improving cash flow.
• Supervise accounting entries and ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Identify and implement process improvements to boost operational efficiency.
• Prepare reporting for owners, stakeholders and joint‑venture partners.

Required profile

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in finance or controlling, preferably within hospitality.
• Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and financial reporting.
• Understanding of accounting principles and hotel operations.
• Advanced English; additional languages are a plus.
• Proactive, results‑driven mindset with solid decision‑making abilities.
