Finance Director – Manufacturing Transformation & Turnaround

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead a critical transformation and turnaround for a manufacturing business in Manchester. This hybrid role (3 days onsite) is offered on a 6‑12 month fixed‑term basis, with the potential to become permanent.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute a strategic turnaround plan to improve profitability and overall performance.
• Restore financial clarity, enhance management information, and simplify reporting processes.
• Strengthen forecasting, budgeting, and long‑term business planning cycles.
• Drive EBITDA improvement through commercial decision‑making and operational efficiencies.
• Establish robust cash‑management and working‑capital disciplines.
• Provide data‑driven insights to support strategic and operational decisions.
• Align finance with operational and commercial objectives to sustain growth.
• Act as a trusted adviser to the CEO and senior leadership team.
• Lead and develop the finance team, ensuring strong capability and accountability.

Required profile

• Proven experience as a Finance Director or senior finance leader in a manufacturing environment.
• Track record of delivering successful turnarounds and performance improvements.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• ERP reporting and management information systems.

What we offer

• Competitive salary £110,000‑£130,000 per year plus a 20% performance bonus.
