Finance Officer – Accounts Payable & Xero Specialist

About the role

We are seeking a Finance Officer to support a busy education organisation in South West London. The position starts as a temporary, full‑time role with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate. You will report to the Director of Finance and ensure day‑to‑day financial operations run smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Process purchase orders, match invoices, and run weekly BACS payments using Xero.
• Maintain supplier records, set up new suppliers, and handle petty cash payments.
• Assist with monthly reconciliation of non‑staffing budget expenditure.
• Produce half‑termly statements and charges for curriculum and administrative stationery.
• Support the Interim Finance Director with specific account administration and ad‑hoc tasks.
• Provide general office administration support, including telephone handling and communications.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Finance Officer, Finance Assistant, or Accounts Payable role within the education sector.
• Proven use of PS Financials and Xero for invoice, purchase order, and payment processing.
• Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines.
