Financial Controller – International Luxury Brand

About the role

We are a fast‑growing international luxury consumer brand seeking a hands‑on Financial Controller to lead core finance operations. Reporting to the CEO and a Fractional CFO, you will own the finance function, deliver accurate reporting and provide clear financial insight to non‑finance stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Produce accurate monthly management accounts across multiple entities and deliver performance analysis.
• Explain variances against budget and prior periods to support decision‑making.
• Lead month‑end close, including full balance‑sheet reconciliations (debtors, creditors, cash, intercompany).
• Manage accruals, pre‑payments and fixed‑asset registers.
• Support budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
• Partner with non‑finance stakeholders to aid strategic decisions.
• Oversee payroll activities and ensure timely tax submissions and statutory compliance.
• Maintain short‑term cash‑flow forecasts, monitor liquidity and optimise working capital.
• Liaise with external advisors on international filings and reporting.
• Maintain and improve financial controls, policies and procedures.
• Support implementation of finance or inventory systems and develop junior finance team members.

Required profile

• Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent experience with relevant industry background.
• Experience in retail, FMCG or consumer‑facing businesses, preferably multi‑site/multi‑channel.
• Strong background in management accounting and financial control within SMEs or fast‑growing companies.
• Experience handling multi‑entity or multi‑currency environments.
