Financial Controller

About the role

Kabuni, an AI‑powered multi‑sport coaching platform, is looking for a Chartered Accountant who is passionate about technology, finance, startups and sport. You will be the first dedicated finance professional, reporting directly to the founder and shaping the financial foundation of both UK and Indian entities.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain the full financial infrastructure, including chart of accounts, close process and reporting cadence.
• Manage UK VAT/MTD and Indian GST compliance, payroll for both regions and cross‑border transfer documentation.
• Own weekly cash‑flow modelling, investor‑facing reporting and board‑ready management accounts.
• Lead ERP/accounting system implementation (NetSuite OneWorld or equivalent).
• Maintain financial models, data‑room materials and support fundraising activities.
• Automate financial workflows, develop dashboards and partner with the automation team in Bangalore and London.

Required profile

• ACA qualified (ICAEW) with demonstrable ability to design systems, tools and automations.
• Prior experience in a VC‑backed startup environment.
• Comfortable operating across UK and Indian regulatory frameworks.
• Strong financial modelling and forecasting skills.
• Exceptional communication to translate numbers into narratives for investors and the board.
• Highly desirable: dual ACA + ICAI qualification and familiarity with RBI/FIRMS filings, GST and Indian company law.

• Competitive salary £65,000‑£80,000 per year.
