Freelance Digital PR Specialist (Health & Neurodiversity Media Outreach)

About the role

NeuroDirect is seeking a freelance Digital PR Specialist to secure editorial coverage for a landmark autism‑screening data study. You will pitch the data‑driven story to journalists and publications covering mental health, psychology and neurodiversity, aiming for high‑quality placements that link back to the NeuroDirect site.

Key responsibilities

• Earn 5‑10 editorial placements in top‑tier health, psychology and mainstream news outlets.
• Target publications such as The Guardian health/society, The Independent, BBC News health, Metro, HuffPost UK, PsychCentral, Healthline, Verywell Mind, and specialist autism or neurodiversity media.
• Craft and deliver compelling pitches that highlight key data angles (e.g., prevalence of undiagnosed autism, score distributions, diagnostic gaps).
• Ensure each placement includes a follow‑link back to the article on neurodirect.co.uk.
• Avoid generic blogger outreach, niche edits, or syndicated content; focus on genuine editorial coverage.

Required profile

• Proven experience in digital PR, media pitching and securing coverage in health‑related publications.
• Familiarity with UK media landscape and journalists covering mental health, psychology or neurodiversity.
• Ability to translate complex data into news‑worthy angles.
• Strong understanding of autism screening research and related public interest.
