Freelance Multi‑Skilled Broadcast Operator

About the role

IMG is expanding its team of Multi‑Skilled Operators to support a variety of live broadcast projects across its studios and on‑site venues in England and Wales. This freelance position offers the chance to work on everything from single events to large, concurrent productions.

Key responsibilities

• Operate across audio, vision control, graphics, camera, routing, and recording/replay systems.
• Coordinate transmission duties, including communication setup, pre‑transmission checks and post‑shutdown procedures.
• Mix voice‑over and interview audio to broadcast standards.
• Maintain clear communication with production and technical teams to ensure seamless broadcast delivery.
• Conduct on‑site stadium visits and attend production planning meetings as required.
• Log operational details and support engineering teams with studio facility upkeep.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, including fire lane clearance and risk assessments.

Required profile

• Strong working knowledge of broadcast operations, including audio, cameras, talkback, tally and vision systems.
• Experience with live replay workflows and on‑site stadium productions.
• Understanding of connectivity and Master Control Room (MCR) practices (desirable).
• Ability to work collaboratively within a production crew and adapt to varied client needs.
