General Manager – Golf Club

About the role

The Chorlton-cum-Hardy Golf Club is seeking an experienced and dynamic General Manager to lead the club through its next phase of development. Reporting to the Chair of the Board, you will be responsible for day‑to‑day operations, delivering an outstanding member and visitor experience, and implementing the club’s strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strong leadership and line management across Food & Beverage, clubhouse operations and administration.
• Ensure the club consistently delivers a high‑quality experience for members and visitors while operating efficiently, safely and profitably.
• Recruit, develop and motivate staff, fostering a positive culture aligned with the club’s values.
• Manage the Club Professional’s franchise agreement and maintain relationships with contractors, suppliers and key stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Head Greenkeeper to maintain the course and practice facilities to a high standard.
• Oversee the presentation, maintenance and continual improvement of the clubhouse, facilities and surrounding grounds.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety, employment law, licensing, GDPR and other relevant legislation.
• Manage HR policies, procedures and employee matters in partnership with appointed HR consultants.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion across membership and employment practices.

Required profile

• Proven experience in senior operational leadership within hospitality, leisure or golf‑club environments.
• Demonstrated ability to drive financial sustainability and operational excellence.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to engage members, staff and external partners.
• Experience managing multi‑disciplinary teams and complex stakeholder relationships.
• Commitment to the club’s values, community focus and long‑term growth.
