General Practitioner – MOD Medical Centre

About the role

The Ministry of Defence is seeking a qualified General Practitioner to join the multidisciplinary team at Redford Medical Centre in Edinburgh. This full‑time position (18.5 hours per week) involves delivering primary and occupational healthcare to service personnel and civilians within the centre.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive general medical care to registered patients during normal practice hours.
• Conduct mandatory medical examinations and deliver occupational health advice.
• Promote health, wellbeing and employability of service personnel.
• Offer preventative medical guidance to individuals and chain of command.
• Support other practices across the Scotland Northern Ireland region as required.

Required profile

• Fully registered with the General Medical Council.
• Commitment to high‑quality patient care and adherence to GMC standards.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a military‑civilian healthcare team.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development.
