Head of Education

About the role

The Head of Education will lead strategic improvement across Redbridge schools, overseeing School Effectiveness, SEND, and Sufficiency, Access and Inclusion. You will work closely with school leaders and governors to raise standards and ensure consistent, high‑quality experiences for all children and young people.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality support and challenge to schools in your portfolio.
• Develop and share best practice to improve school performance.
• Influence system‑wide policy and practice across the education portfolio.
• Build strong relationships with school leaders, governors and external partners.
• Monitor and report on progress, ensuring accountability and transparency.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in education, either in a local authority or multi‑academy trust.
• Deep understanding of current and emerging issues affecting schools.
• Ability to navigate political dynamics and build consensus.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
