About the role
A leading UK General Insurance business is seeking a Head of Reserving to join its senior actuarial team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. The role is based in London with one day per week on‑site.
Key responsibilities
- Lead reserving across Motor and Home portfolios and own the end‑to‑end reserving process.
- Provide clear insight into portfolio performance, emerging claims trends and key movements.
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders in Actuarial, Claims, Underwriting, Pricing and Finance.
- Lead and develop a team of actuarial professionals.
- Manage reserving governance, controls, audit and regulatory engagement.
- Support the wider business during significant change and integration.
Required profile
- Minimum 7 years of actuarial experience in General Insurance reserving.
- Strong technical reserving expertise and proven leadership experience.
- Ability to own reserving cycles, communicate complex analysis to senior stakeholders and manage high‑performing teams.
