About the role
Teaching Personnel is seeking an outstanding, motivated and compassionate leader to head a secondary SEMH Alternative Provision in Liverpool. The role oversees up to 45 students, delivering a highly personalised educational experience for young people with social, emotional and mental health needs.
Key responsibilities
- Provide inspirational strategic leadership and develop a clear vision to improve outcomes for SEMH students.
- Design and deliver a broad, balanced curriculum tailored to individual needs while monitoring teaching quality.
- Promote a strong safeguarding culture and ensure the wellbeing, safety and personal development of all students.
- Lead, manage and develop a multidisciplinary staff team, overseeing performance and professional development.
- Manage day‑to‑day operations, budgets and resources to ensure efficiency and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Build and maintain relationships with parents, local authorities and external agencies, representing the provision within the wider community.
Required profile
- Proven senior leadership experience in education, preferably within SEMH or alternative provision.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and wellbeing policies.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic improvement plans.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Commitment to inclusive, high‑quality education.
