Health Visitor - Children and Families

About the role

This permanent, full‑time position is based in the Eastwood team at Eastwood Health and Care Centre, supporting children and families across East Renfrewshire. The Health Visitor will work from the antenatal period to school entry, delivering evidence‑based public health interventions and managing a caseload of children.

Key responsibilities

• Undertake statutory duties for individual children, assessing and supporting their wellbeing.
• Develop, implement and monitor multi‑agency child plans in line with NHS policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with professionals, families and key stakeholders to ensure responsibilities are met.
• Supervise and delegate work to team members, reviewing their outputs.
• Manage a caseload using the national weight‑load measurement tool and local population data.
• Identify and address wider public health needs through evidence‑based practice.

Required profile

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and practising within its legal and ethical framework.
• Autonomous practitioner able to manage a health‑visiting caseload independently.
• Experience in health visiting or community nursing, with the ability to supervise team members.
• Knowledge of national legislation and public health improvement agendas.
