About the role
You will join the West Dunbartonshire Children and Families Team as an enthusiastic Health Visitor, working autonomously as a caseload manager to deliver a high‑quality, safe community health visiting service. This is a full‑time permanent position based at Vale of Leven Health and Care Centre, Monday‑Friday.
Key responsibilities
- Manage a caseload, overseeing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the Universal Health Visiting Pathway and additional care programmes.
- Apply in‑depth child protection knowledge and safeguarding expertise.
- Collaborate with partner agencies to support children and families.
- Practice independently, exercising professional judgement and decision‑making.
- Implement GIRFEC principles throughout care delivery.
- Deliver the national Universal Health Visiting Pathway to ensure consistent, high‑quality support for families.
Required profile
- Must hold a valid driver’s licence for community travel.
- Registered with the NMC as a Specialist Community Public Health Nurse/Health Visitor.
- Strong expertise in health visiting practice, child protection and the GIRFEC framework.
- Demonstrated proficiency, experience and autonomous clinical judgement.
- Commitment to ongoing learning and development.
