Hire Controller – Operations & Customer Service

About the role

Based at Speedy’s London depot, the Hire Controller plays a pivotal role on the front line of sales and customer service. You will manage the full hire journey – from order entry through delivery and collection – ensuring every customer receives timely, reliable service.

Key responsibilities

• Process hire orders and coordinate delivery, collection and invoicing.
• Liaise daily with stock teams, drivers and engineers to minimise delays and guarantee equipment availability.
• Maintain accurate records and update internal systems to reflect order status.
• Provide proactive communication with customers to ensure satisfaction and resolve issues.
• Support depot operations by collaborating with all departments to meet service targets.

Required profile

• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Adaptable, with a commitment to continuous learning and development.
• Valid driving licence.
• Previous experience in the hire industry or a similar sales/operational role.
• Willingness to contribute to the company’s ESG strategy.
