Home Tutor – 1:1 Private Teaching (Birmingham)

About the role
As a Home Tutor you will design and deliver personalised 1:1 lessons for pupils in Birmingham, helping them regain confidence, motivation and academic progress. The role is ideal for an experienced teacher who wants to move away from the traditional classroom and provide a more flexible, rewarding learning experience.
Key responsibilities
- Create, plan and deliver tailored lesson plans for each pupil.
- Re‑engage pupils who have been out of education, rebuilding confidence and motivation.
- Provide structure to the pupil’s daily routine and monitor progress.
- Work closely with families to arrange flexible teaching times.
- Collaborate with Prospero Teaching to track outcomes and receive ongoing support.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent UK classroom teaching experience.
- Creative, patient and able to think outside the box.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEND or those disengaged from education.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
Required skills
What we offer
- Flexible, part‑time hours (up to 15 hrs per week per student).
- Temporary contract with ongoing placement until the pupil can re‑integrate into school.
- Competitive pay starting at £22 per hour, up to £30 per hour.
- Support from Prospero Teaching throughout the assignment.
