About the role
As a Housekeeping Assistant in a Barchester care home, you will help create a warm, homely environment that meets each resident’s unique needs. Your daily cleaning and housekeeping duties keep the home safe, tidy and welcoming for residents, visitors and staff.
Key responsibilities
- Perform a variety of cleaning tasks, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and bathroom sanitation.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene across resident rooms, communal areas and facilities.
- Ensure all equipment and supplies are stocked and used safely.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly.
- Support the care team by providing a clean environment that enhances resident wellbeing.
Required profile

- Reliability and strong attention to detail.
- Good practical skills for handling cleaning equipment and supplies.
