Housing Manager – Full-time, West Sussex

About the role

We are seeking a proactive Housing Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Housing Department in West Sussex. The role ensures high standards of housing management and tenant satisfaction across the association’s portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and present housing application assessments for Lettings & Allocation Sub‑Committee meetings.
• Attend weekly manager meetings to discuss departmental strategy and updates.
• Conduct post‑move‑in visits to new tenants and internal transfers after three months to ensure smooth transitions.
• Collaborate with support agencies to deliver comprehensive services to tenants.
• Carry out annual tenancy audits and address tenant queries promptly.
• Maintain and update the association’s database, including archiving and spreadsheet management.
• Support staff with tenant enquiries and oversee the arrears procedure.
• Prepare court documents for property repossession and attend hearings.
• Work with the Property Services Manager on voids, pre‑void inspections and online CORE reporting.
• Manage annual rent increases, notification letters and system updates.
• Reconcile weekly petty cash with the CEO and manage advertising for void properties.
• Handle anti‑social behaviour cases and approve mutual exchange applications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in housing management or a closely related role.
• Strong organisational and leadership abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Knowledge of legal requirements in housing and property management.

Required skills

• Proficiency with housing management software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
