About the role
We are looking for an enthusiastic Humanities Teacher to join our co‑educational secondary academy in Staines. The role starts in September/October 2026 and involves teaching History, RE and/or Geography to students aged 11‑16 across Key Stages 3 and 4.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, deliver and assess engaging lessons in History, RE and Geography.
- Develop and adapt curriculum resources to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and provide constructive feedback.
- Collaborate with the Humanities department and wider school staff to promote interdisciplinary learning.
- Contribute to departmental meetings, whole‑school initiatives and extracurricular activities.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Strong academic background and genuine passion for humanities subjects.
- Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential).
- Reflective practitioner committed to continuous professional development.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a supportive school community.
Required skills
- Effective lesson planning and delivery.
- Assessment and data‑driven tracking of student progress.
- Use of ICT tools to enhance learning.
