Hybrid VDPS Doctor – £72k per annum

About the role

Maximus is seeking a qualified medical doctor to work as a hybrid VDVD (Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme) assessor. You will conduct clinical reviews, advise case managers on complaints and enquiries related to PIP referrals, and produce detailed reports that support benefit decisions.

Key responsibilities

• Carry out thorough medical assessments for Personal Independence Payment (PIP), Work Capability Assessments (WCA), Industrial Injuries Benefit (IIB) and the Vaccine Damage Payment Scheme (VDPS).
• Provide clear, factual reports that inform benefit entitlement decisions.
• Respond to complaints and enquiries from customers, welfare rights groups, MPs and the Department for Work and Pensions.
• Offer feedback on healthcare professional performance to support professional development and business improvement.

Required profile

• Valid GMC registration number.
• At least 5 years post‑registration clinical experience in the UK.
• Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship offered).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with computer systems and digital reporting tools.
