About the role
The In Water Engineer will provide technical leadership for underwater and diving work packages at HMNB Clyde Faslane, ensuring naval vessels remain safe, operational and compliant. You will act as the primary engineering contact for all underwater activities, shaping method statements and driving safety standards.
Key responsibilities
- Deliver technical engineering support for in‑water and diving projects.
- Review and apply safety documentation to all underwater activities.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for underwater engineering across Fleet Operations.
- Develop clear, compliant method statements with site stakeholders.
- Assure compliance with defence and industry standards and promote continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Good understanding of underwater maintenance, inspection and repair techniques.
- Strong grounding in marine engineering practices.
- Awareness of submarine systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of safe systems of work and risk management.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance.
