Industrial Sales Engineer

About the role

As an Industrial Sales Engineer at Hilti you will combine engineering expertise with commercial acumen to introduce advanced technical solutions into manufacturing and production sites. Working directly on‑site, you will help customers optimise workflows, improve safety and boost productivity while acting as a trusted technical advisor.

Key responsibilities

• Identify and develop high‑value solution opportunities in industrial customers, partnering with sales teams to drive growth.
• Assess production environments, map inefficiencies and propose technical improvements.
• Lead multi‑disciplinary technical engagements with engineering, operations and quality stakeholders.
• Manage end‑to‑end implementation: on‑site installation, testing, optimisation and ongoing support.
• Serve as the technical liaison between customer teams and Hilti’s internal functions, ensuring alignment of engineering requirements and commercial delivery.
• Embed solutions into daily operations, overseeing change‑management, system integration and long‑term adoption.
• Support the wider sales organisation by sharing knowledge and building capability to recognise technical opportunities.

Required profile

• Desirable: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering or a related discipline.
• Essential: Proven experience working on manufacturing or production lines, including hands‑on technical applications.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management abilities.
• Willingness to travel nationally for customer visits and solution roll‑outs.
• Resilient problem‑solver with a commitment to continuous learning.
• Full, manual UK driving licence (no more than six penalty points).
