IT Support Specialist – Level 1

About the role

MNI, a leading provider of financial market news and intelligence, is looking for a proactive IT Support Specialist – Level 1 to join its London team. You will be the first point of contact for staff, resolving hardware, software and connectivity issues to keep the newsroom and business operations running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Provide first‑line technical support for hardware, software, network and connectivity problems.
• Set up, install and configure laptops, desktops, peripherals and business applications.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, password resets and access rights across company systems.
• Support Microsoft 365, Windows operating systems, VPN access, email, printers and standard business applications.
• Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff or external providers.
• Maintain accurate records of support tickets, IT assets and equipment assignments.
• Assist with onboarding and off‑boarding, including equipment preparation and account changes.
• Help maintain IT documentation, troubleshooting guides and internal procedures.
• Support basic IT security processes such as access controls and endpoint protection.
• Liaise with vendors for hardware repairs and software support.

Required profile

• Previous experience in an IT support, helpdesk, desktop support or similar technical support role or internship.
