Junior Field Service Engineer – Machine Tools (Midlands)

About the role

We are seeking a Junior Field Service Engineer to join a global Original Equipment Manufacturer in the Midlands. The role involves on‑site support of machine tools, providing technical expertise to customers and developing into a hands‑on engineering specialist.

Key responsibilities

• Diagnose and rectify machine breakdowns and technical faults on a variety of machine tools.
• Perform routine service, maintenance and safety checks on equipment and associated systems.
• Train customers in correct operation, maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
• Promote consumable sales and maintenance contracts, as well as sales of additional machine tools and accessories.

Required profile

• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC or degree) with a genuine passion for engineering.
• Hands‑on, mechanically competent with understanding of electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic and mechanical drawings.
• Previous field experience with machine tools is advantageous but not mandatory.
