L2 Network Engineer – Cambridgeshire

About the role

The L2 Network Engineer will be based in Cambridgeshire and will manage, maintain and support Telefónica Tech’s network infrastructure and perimeter security systems. You will work on-site full-time, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure reliable and secure connectivity.

Key responsibilities

• Support and troubleshoot enterprise LAN, WAN and WLAN environments.
• Maintain and optimise Cisco, HPE and Aruba networking equipment.
• Configure, monitor and manage Fortinet firewalls and related security devices.
• Perform day-to-day patching, maintenance and operation of network platforms in secure environments.
• Produce and keep up-to-date network documentation, diagrams and inventory records.
• Generate regular reports on network performance, availability and security.
• Coordinate with third-party suppliers and partners for system implementation and support.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.

Required profile

• Proven experience in enterprise LAN/WAN/WLAN management.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco, HPE and Aruba networking solutions.
• Experience with Fortinet firewall technologies.
• Ability to work fully on-site Monday‑Friday and possess own transport.
• Legal right to live and work in the UK.
• Successful completion of BPSS security clearance where required.
